BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – In partnership with Learfield and Roadrunner Sports Properties, CSU Bakersfield has announced the new radio voice of Roadrunner men’s basketball. Isaac Lowenkron will get behind the microphone and paint a picture from courtside of every `Runner men’s basketball game, on the road and at home, during the 2018-19 season.

“I am delighted to join the Roadrunner family,” said Lowenkron, “particularly at such an exciting time in the rise of the men’s basketball program, and to get the opportunity to speak to a passionate and growing fan base. I encourage everyone to come out to the Icardo Center this season to contribute to the roar of the crowd that will thunder out of radios throughout Bakersfield and beyond.”

A veteran of radio broadcasting, Lowenkron comes to CSUB with a wealth of experience. He has done radio play-by-play for the Los Angeles Clippers, UCLA football and men’s basketball, as well as USC men’s basketball. Lowenkron has also done play-by-play for NFL and college football games for Sports USA Media.

Along the way, Lowenkron broadcasted six Pac-12 men’s basketball tournaments and was the host of the national radio broadcast of the 2017 NFL All-Star Game for Westwood One. He has also served as the host of the Clippers Courtside pre-game show and the halftime show on AM 570 LA Sports.

Lowenkron serves as an anchor for FOX Sports Radio and is on the board of directors of the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association.

“We are fortunate to have Isaac join the ‘Runner family,” said Ziggy Siegfried, Director of Athletics at CSUB. “His passion, skill, and experience make him the perfect fit here at CSU Bakersfield.”

CSUB begins the 2018-19 campaign on Nov. 9 with an afternoon matinee against Antelope Valley. Before that, fans will have opportunities to see the `Runners play in their Blue-Gold Scrimmage Oct. 18 and in an exhibition for charity against Long Beach State Oct. 27.
