IOWA CITY, Iowa  Xtream HawkVision, an augmented reality platform, has been added to the HawkeyeSports App, the announcement was made Wednesday by the University of Iowa Athletics Department.

Through the support of partners SIDEARM Sports, Hawkeye Sports Properties, Coca-Cola, Iowa Corn, and the Iowa Farm Bureau, fans can receive exclusive content and enhanced experiences at Iowa athletic venues and through select partner activations.

“We are excited to be one of the first in the college space to provide this new experience and thank our partners for their continued support,” said Charlie Taylor, associate athletics director for strategic communications and marketing. “The HawkeyeSports App has been popular with our fans. This addition brings a new, interactive element to tell Hawkeye stories. We are just scratching the surface of what we can do with this new technology.”

The HawkeyeSports App will continue to be the one-stop destination for Iowa athletics, delivering content, schedules, live stats, and more.

Iowa is launching four new augmented reality experiences.

Throughout the summer, Hawkeye fans have voted on the top 10 Fight for Iowa football moments of the last 20 years.  Each week for the next 10 weeks, Xtream HawkVision will reveal the order of the top 10 games, counting down to No. 1 in October.  Fans can pick up the new Hawkeye Coca-Cola cans over the next 10 weeks to watch the countdown.

In Kinnick Stadium this fall, the Coca-Cola souvenir stadium cup will look back at the biggest moment in football history against each home opponent. There will also be special souvenir cups and content for the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk game on Sept. 8 and the ANF Black and Gold Spirit Game, presented by the Iowa Farm Bureau on Sept. 22.

Experiencing Xtream HawkVision augmented reality content is easy. Fans can download the free HawkeyeSports App from either the Apple Store or Google Play. From the menu in the upper left corner, select the Xtream HawkVision, or Coke Moments, allow camera access and then scan select items or logos.  As the HawkeyeSports app recognizes the item, exclusive content will appear on top of either a Coca-Cola can or souvenir stadium cup.
