STATE COLLEGE, PA. – Penn State Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Learfield’s Penn State Sports Properties, announced today a heightened relationship with the Penn State Bookstore, which is operated by Barnes & Noble College.

For the 2018-19 and 2019-20 collegiate athletic seasons, the Penn State Bookstore will serve as the first-ever presenting sponsor of the Penn State men’s hockey program. This sponsorship gives the Bookstore entitlement of the hockey pre-game radio show as well as numerous opportunities for branding through in-venue promotions, signage and ticket giveaways.

Additionally, the Penn State Bookstore will create the official teddy bear for the popular Teddy Bear Toss, held annually during the last regular-season home hockey game prior to Christmas. These teddy bears will be available to purchase throughout the season, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to THON and Four Diamonds non-profit organizations. The Bookstore will also create an exclusive, commemorative men’s hockey item, available only for men’s hockey season ticket holders.

“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Penn State Athletics and the men’s hockey program,” said Jennifer Guyer, General Manager of the Penn State Bookstore. “For the past 25 years, the bookstore has been proud to serve the Penn State community and its incredible athletics fans. Our dedication to giving back to this community, along with our desire to further connect with the passionate Penn State fan base, make this a natural extension of our current athletics partnership. We’re very excited about our involvement with this program, and look forward to showing our support for the men’s hockey team.”
