LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State Aggies’ radio network continues to bolster its presence statewide, while at the same time returns to Texas for the first time in over a decade.

Beginning this Thursday, Aug. 31, for the first football game, Aggie fans in the El Paso listening area will be able to catch live football and men’s basketball game action, on iHeartMedia’s Fox Sports 1380 AM (KHEY). The three-year agreement was secured on behalf of the university by Learfield’s NM State Sports Properties, its athletics multimedia rightsholder.

With the addition of El Paso’s Fox Sports affiliate, Aggie football and men’s basketball now will be heard on eight terrestrial radio stations across New Mexico and Texas, in addition to the free listening TuneIn app and streaming via the official athletics website, NMStateSports.com.

“We are excited to be back on the air in El Paso after a near decade long absence,” NM State Director of Athletics Mario Moccia said. “With El Paso being a top-25 city in the United States from a population standpoint, its proximity to Las Cruces makes it a prime candidate to draw additional fans to our events by connecting with them on a more regular basis. It will also strengthen our relationship with our El Paso alumni and corporate partners. This initiative was a priority for NM State Athletics and I would like to thank KHEY and Learfield for working to make this happen.”

“At El Paso’s Fox Sports 1380 AM, we are so excited to bring our community NM State athletics! We are proud to deliver the games from our neighbors in Las Cruces to the many Aggie fans that live right next door here in El Paso,” said iHeart Media Senior Vice President of Programming Bill Tole.
