St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Cloud State University today announced that Edison, New Jersey-based TixCity has been named the official secondary ticket partner of St. Cloud State Athletics. The multi-year partnership continues through the 2018-2019 academic year.
As part of the relationship, Huskies Fan Exchange powered by TixCity will be created and launched in conjunction with St. Cloud State’s 2016-17 hockey season. The Huskies Fan Exchange will provide fans of St. Cloud State with an exclusive and safe marketplace to buy and sell tickets to home hockey games and other St. Cloud State sports events. Learfield’s St. Cloud State Sports Properties, the university’s athletics multimedia rightsholder, secured the TixCity partnership and will manage all aspects of the partnership.
“We are excited to welcome TixCity to Huskies Athletics as a partner. Ticket exchange services are relatively new in the marketplace and will provide current and future ticket holders with an easy and safe way to transfer tickets on-line,” said Heather Weems, St. Cloud State Director of Athletics. “Our partnership with TixCity provides a beneficial service to our fans while gaining additional support for Huskies student-athletes and sports programs.”
“We are thrilled to be announcing our partnership with St. Cloud State,” said TixCity Founder and CEO, Lon Belvin. “St. Cloud State has built a reputation for quality athletics and we are pleased to be part of that tradition moving forward. The Huskies Fan Exchange powered by TixCity will provide St. Cloud State fans with the comfort and security of knowing they have an exclusive marketplace where they can buy and sell their tickets. We’ve invested into making this exciting new ticket platform fan-friendly, particularly for mobile use. Importantly, a portion of revenue from the exchange will directly benefit St. Cloud State athletics. We look forward to closely interacting with Huskies fans for many years to come.”
