Collaborating with University of Minnesota Athletics and its multimedia rights partner, Learfield’s Gopher Sports Properties, the dealerships announced today that the Audi Q7 will be the vehicle of choice for this year’s “Border Battle Road Trip.” The destination? Madison, Wis. to see the Gophers play the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, Nov. 26.

Fans are encouraged to enter online beginning today at www.gophersports.com/audi. As exclusive sponsor of the “Border Battle Road Trip,” Audi Minneapolis and Audi St. Paul will equip the winning fan with a brand-new Audi Q7 to drive to Camp Randall Stadium. This grand-prize winner also will receive four tickets to watch the Gophers take on the Badgers in the Border Battle; a two-night hotel stay; a sideline visit at the game and a $250 Gold Country gift card. The entry period is open starting today and will close on Nov. 12, 2016. The Road Trip promotion will be supported through in-venue signage, radio and digital elements.

border-battle-2016“We look forward to the Border Battle Road Trip and will take great pleasure in seeing the winning fan come to our showroom, get the key to the Q7 and take off on a memorable journey to watch his or her favorite team play over Thanksgiving weekend,” said Audi Brands Vice President Todd Olson. “We’re thrilled to have the Audi Q7 as the vehicle of choice this year, and we again are thankful for what has been a great relationship with Gopher Athletics.”

Gopher football fans will be able to follow along on the trip with Goldy, who will be close behind the winner in a second vehicle, detailing the road trip and entire weekend on Gopher Athletics’ social media platforms.

“Nothing says college football more than hitting the road and heading to another campus to see your favorite football team take on its rival in a trophy game,” said John Cunningham, Deputy Athletics Director for the University of Minnesota. “Those experiences create so many lasting memories, and we are appreciative that our local partners with Audi are providing our fans with the opportunity to make more of those memories. We look forward to living vicariously through our winner as we follow along on Facebook and Twitter.”

With its powerful engine options, legendary quattro® all-wheel drive, class-leading horsepower and innovative driver assistance technologies, the Q7, an IIHS Top Safety Pick, not only helps all seven passengers get to their destination quickly, it does it with exceptional comfort and style.

“Fans love this, and it’s always fun to follow Goldy’s Road Trip adventures through the social platforms,” said Gopher Sports Properties General Manager Greg Gerlach. “We’re continually striving to create mutually beneficial partnerships for sponsors as well as for Gopher fans, the university and campus community, and we think this is an outstanding, engaging promotion. We are grateful for the Gophers’ corporate supporters and appreciate their generosity and ongoing commitment.”
