Learfield Names Keith Doughty General Manager for its Black Bear Sports Properties Team at UMaine
Orono, Maine — Learfield announced on Friday, April 15 that Keith Doughty has been named general manager for its Black Bear Sports Properties team supporting University of Maine Athletics. With more than 20 years of integrated, high-level experience with companies across the U.S. and in Canada, Doughty brings multi-faceted expertise to the university’s athletics multimedia rights holder.
Doughty relocated to Orono from Milwaukee, Wis., where he was sales development manager for the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks. His role included managing and training 30 sales team members as well as working closely with the organization’s core constituents. Prior to that, he served in numerous senior-level positions such as vice president, business development for Vinceria (Redmond, Wash.); vice president of sales, marketing and business development for Hastens Beds Canada (Toronto); and vice president of sales and business development for Indefense (Santa Cruz, Calif. and Toronto).

Doughty will lead all aspects of the extensive rights relationship between Learfield and Maine Athletics, which includes signage, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, event marketing, play-by-play radio, television and radio coaches’ shows, and digital opportunities via goblackbears.com. Additionally, he will work alongside Creech and the university athletic department to align initiatives in building the Black Bear brand locally, regionally and nationally.
