PHILADELPHIA
– The AT&T Speed Lab and Health and Fitness Expo will return for the 122nd running of the Penn Relays. AT&T and Penn Quakers Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for The Penn Relays, continue their work together to enhance the experience for athletes and fans of the Relays. The AT&T Speed Lab provides tips and unique experiences showcasing how technology can drive athlete’s performance.

15_ATT_132_008_SpeedLab_Logo_Final“We’ve enjoyed sponsoring The Penn Relays because it mobilizes people around a common passion for track and field,” said Jennifer Jones, vice president of diverse markets for AT&T. “Many of these athletes spend countless hours perfecting their bodies to compete at world-class levels. Mobility helps the beginner or even an Olympian gain that competitive edge, whether it’s with wearables or training apps.”

The AT&T Speed Lab allows attendees to experience the newest wearables by seeing their biometrics measured while performing cardio activities. Additionally, there will be meet and greet opportunities with professional track & field athletes. Sports enthusiasts who won’t be onsite but like to keep track of their health and fitness can share their best methods on social channels using #MyWorldMyWay.

The Speed Lab will be located within the Carnival Village, but fans not attending the Relays can engage AT&T through social media avenues so they too can experience a piece of the Speed Lab.

“The AT&T Speed Lab has brought a new life to this historic event, allowing fans to interact with the athletes and experience the Relays in a whole new way,” said Penn Quakers Sports Properties Manager of Business Development, Jason Frandi. “The excitement around the inaugural Speed Lab was tremendous and I’m looking forward to another great year for the 2016 Relays.”
The 122nd running of The Penn Relays will take place April 28 – 30, 2016 at the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field. The AT&T Speed Lab and Health and Fitness Expo will be open April 28 – 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
