CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Learfield recently named Andrew Forrest general manager for its Mocs Sports Properties team representing the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Learfield, UTC Athletics’ exclusive multimedia rights holder, collaborates with Vice Chancellor & Director of Athletics David Blackburn and his administration to build the Mocs’ brand locally, throughout the state and on a national scale.
Forrest comes to Chattanooga from San Antonio, Texas, where he was vice president and assistant general manager for the city’s NASL professional soccer team, the Scorpions. In addition to overseeing various front office responsibilities, game day operations and corporate sales strategies, Forrest was integral in securing key sponsorships and generating significant season and group ticket sales in his five years with the organization. He also has prior sports management experience consulting with Playbook Management International, for the company’s professional sports team partners in Baltimore and Dallas, as well as in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Forrest received his bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College and his master’s degree from James Madison University, both in Virginia.
“I look forward to working closely with Andrew as we continue to advance our partnership with Learfield,” added Blackburn. “I am excited about the experience he brings to this position and I think he will be a perfect fit in our community.”
In addition to leading the Mocs Sports Properties team, Forrest will manage all aspects of the extensive rights relationship between Learfield and UTC Athletics, which includes signage, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, event marketing, play-by-play radio, television and radio coaches’ shows, and digital opportunities via GoMocs.com.
“Andrew comes to Learfield with a strong sports industry background on many levels, and we’re excited to have him in Chattanooga and know he’ll be a valuable addition to our team,” said Learfield Vice President David Hubbard.
