PHILADELPHIA – In partnership with Penn Athletics and Learfield Sports’ Penn Quakers Sports Properties, Enterprise Car Share has agreed to a three-year sponsorship agreement and will park one Car Sharing vehicle behind the historic Palestra.

12_CarShare_rgbEnterprise Car Share originally began under the network of Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s hourly car rentals in 2005. Over the last decade, Enterprise has purchased companies and partnered with large, local car-sharing services to provide dedicated community-based car sharing. Today, Enterprise Car Share is available for more than 130 university campuses, 40 dedicated government programs, and 500 business accounts in 35 U.S. States, Canada and the UK.

“We are excited to have Enterprise Car Share as a new partner of Penn Athletics, and we look forward to developing this relationship over the next few years,” said Roger Reina, Senior Associate Athletic Director, External Affairs for the University of Pennsylvania. “What’s really unique is that we have one of the Car Sharing vehicles right outside the Palestra. That convenience and access allows our athletic department and student athletes to see this partnership up close.”

The vehicle was placed earlier this week, and will be located right behind the Palestra for easy access. Anyone with an Enterprise Car Share membership is able to use this car, and Penn staff, alumni and students will all receive special discounts on the Car Share membership.

In addition to the specially located vehicle, Enterprise Car Share will be promoting the service availability through this partnership with Penn Athletics by traditional media benefits including digital messaging on the Penn Athletic website, signage and on-site tabling at specific athletic events.

“This is a terrific partnership between the athletic department and Enterprise, and we are excited to see how it will unfold. Parking is a constant issue on campuses across the country, especially in bigger cities like Philly, so when we’re able to provide a service like this right outside the Palestra door, it just makes sense,” said Penn Quakers Sports Properties General Manager Eric Taylor.
