Recognized not only locally, but nationally for their patient care in various areas of specialty, SJCH’s commitment to Bakersfield and Kern County have led to this newly-expanded sponsorship for CSUB Athletics which includes the exclusive logo presence on the backdrop for all press conferences
and media events, the SJCH logo on the famous blue court in the Icardo Center and an opportunity to connect and educate the CSUB fan base regarding various health issues at select home contests and special events.

“As Bakersfield’s most preferred hospital, it is our honor to partner with CSUB – the leading academic and athletic university in Kern County,” said Jimmy Phillips, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at San Joaquin Community Hospital. “The best partnerships are forged on a commitment to a common mission and a true desire to create a better community – which is the focus of both CSUB and SJCH.  We’re both proud and excited to support CSUB athletics for this upcoming season and into the future. Go ‘Runners!”

Athletics Director Kenneth “Ziggy” Siegfried says this partnership is a great example of the community involvement Bakersfield now has with the Roadrunners.

CSUB Athletics Director Kenneth ‘Ziggy’ Siegfried added this expanded partnership will benefit both the hospital and the athletics department.

“We’re proud to announce San Joaquin Community Hospital has significantly enhanced their sponsorship commitment to CSUB Athletics becoming an even-stronger partner,” Siegfried said.  “I want to thank everyone at San Joaquin Community Hospital for their vision of what we can accomplish together for our student-athletes and the community. The best is yet to come for CSUB Athletics and SJCH and I look forward to us growing together for many years to come.”

SJCH was recently named one of the nation’s best hospitals for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) care in the U.S. by US News and World Reports and is the standard for quality care in Kern County. SJCH also features world-renowned specialty centers include the Burn Center, Breast Center, and the AIS Cancer Center in conjunction with the Adventist Health Physicians Network with providers specializing in family practice, internal medicine, osteopathic medicine and urology.
