PLANO, Texas – Learfield Sports continues to build out its collegiate sports marketing partnerships with the acquisition of KP Sports and Entertainment, LLC as announced today by Learfield President/CEO Greg Brown and KP Sports Founder/President Kerry Perry.

“We are excited to make this announcement and are pleased to welcome these partners to the Learfield family,” said Brown.  “We believe we can offer schools first rate service and continue to build on the relationships KP Sports has already established.  We are also excited to have the members of the KP Sports team join our company.”

The transaction, the terms of which are confidential, takes effect immediately.  All of the employees of KP Sports’ multimedia rights business will now be employees of Learfield.  There are no staff changes planned, and Perry will join the Learfield team to help manage the six new properties joining Learfield.

The KP Sports group will now operate under the Learfield Sports banner and will benefit from sales representation by Learfield’s national sponsorship team.  Roughly half of the businesses in this transaction will not be entirely new to Learfield as they are affiliated with other services from within the company, including Learfield Licensing Partners and SIDEARM Sports.

“This is a great opportunity for our university and conference partners and our people,” said Perry.  “The relationships, talent and systems that Learfield brings to the table as one of the premier leaders in the industry will not only benefit our college and conference partners, but will also complement our culture and the way we do things internally. We are very excited about being a part of the Learfield family.”

The new Learfield partnerships are Eastern Washington, McNeese State, Weber State, Idaho State, Big Sky Conference and Southland Conference.

“We are grateful to the folks at KP Sports who have worked with us to complete this transaction, and we look forward to serving the schools and conference partners and associates that are now a part of our family,” added Brown.
