AT&T has teamed up with Penn Quakers Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for The Penn Relays, to enhance the experience for athletes and fans of the Relays. The AT&T Speed Lab will provide tips and unique experiences showcasing how technology can drive athlete’s performance.

“We wanted to provide fans with the rare opportunity to interact with winning athletes in an intimate setting and receive one-on-one coaching” said Jennifer Jones, AT&T Vice President of Diverse Markets. Jones also stated “we are excited to see this Speed Lab in action and are happy to be working with the group at Penn Quakers Sports Properties to execute this experience.”

The AT&T Speed Lab will allow attendees to experience the newest wearables, practice their starts on a 30 meter regulation track, and features complimentary professional stretching and massages to help the athletes prepare for competition. The Speed Lab will be housed within the Carnival Village, but AT&T plans to engage fans not attending the Relays through social media avenues so they too can experience a piece of the Speed Lab.

“We have worked with AT&T for a couple years now and thoroughly enjoy the relationship we’ve built and new ideas we are able to bring to life with this historic event,” said Penn Quakers Sports Properties General Manager Eric Taylor. “The excitement around the Speed Lab is building, and I’m personally ready to see it in action!”

The 121st running of The Penn Relays will take place April 23 – 25, 2015 at the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field. The AT&T Speed Lab and Health and Fitness Expo will be open April 23 – 25 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
