JOE DOMINGOS NAMED GENERAL MANAGER FOR WARHAWK SPORTS PROPERTIES AT ULM

PLANO, Texas – Learfield Sports recently named Joe Domingos general manager for its brand-new Monroe, La.-based Warhawk Sports Properties entity, the exclusive athletics multimedia rights holder for University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM).

Domingos most recently served four years as general sales manager for The Radio People in Monroe, overseeing all sales, marketing and promotional efforts for six local radio stations (K-104, LA-105, 100.1 the Beat, Mix 101.9, Talk 540, Classic Country 1680). He brings more than 20 years of sales, sports marketing and sponsorship experience to Learfield’s ULM operation, 10 of which have been served in the hockey sector including his role as general manager, alternative governor for the then start-up Monroe Moccasins Hockey Club of the WPHL from 1997-2001. Following that, Domingos served in executive roles for the AHL team in Manchester, N.H. and then the new ECHL franchise in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

At Warhawk Sports Properties, Domingos will lead all aspects of the long-term rights relationship between Learfield and ULM Athletics, which includes signage, sponsorships, corporate hospitality, event marketing, play-by-play radio, television and radio coaches’ shows, and official athletic website advertising. Working alongside Domingos is Richard Reeves, Warhawk Sports Properties’ director of sales.

“We’re excited to have Joe guiding our team at ULM, and with his former and current ties to the Monroe market, strongly believe he’s a great fit for what we’re trying to accomplish there in continuing to build the Warhawk brand,” said Steve Gowan, senior vice president for Learfield Sports, which acquired ULM Athletics’ former marketing partner, Nelligan Sports Marketing, in February.
