LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech University fans living in the Houston area now will be able to catch the latest English football and basketball play-by-play on ESPN Deportes KGOL 1180 AM via an agreement with Red Raiders’ Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports and the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Texas Tech Athletics.

For the next three years, 50,000-watt KGOL 1180 AM will carry all Texas Tech regular- and post-season football games, including the Red Raider Football Show with Kliff Kingsbury, which will be broadcast before each game. Additionally, the radio station will carry all men’s basketball games (including pre- and post-season), and the Red Raider Basketball Show with Tubby Smith. To give listeners a snapshot at all Texas Tech sports, KGOL also will carry the yearlong, three-minute Red Raider Update.

“ESPN Deportes is buzzing about our new partnership with Texas Tech Red Raider football and basketball,” said Rick Cruz-Aedo, General Manager of ESPN Deportes, which is owned and operated by Texas Radio Holdings. “Here at the station, we are all big fans of college football and to be working with one of the biggest programs in the state brings us great honor and pride.”

“We’re pleased to be able to broaden our Houston reach and add ESPN Deportes as a valued affiliate through the 2015-16 athletic season,” said Rick Leach, general manager for Red Raider Sports Properties, which oversees all aspects of the Texas Tech Red Raider Sports Network. “Texas Tech fans living in the greater Houston area now have a new source to get great Red Raider game action and programming – from the city’s only 24-hour sports Spanish radio station.”
