BOISE, Idaho – Boise State will begin the installation process for a new video board in Bronco Stadium, Director of Athletics Mark Coyle announced Monday.

The new video board, built by Daktronics, will measure 37.2 feet tall and 58.8 feet wide, or 2,187.4 square feet. The 15mm HD LED display panel features world-class image processing that produces up to 281 trillion colors, and advanced pixel layout eliminates color shifts at off angles.

“An upgraded video board has been a priority for us, and our intention is to have it installed and functioning by the third game of the season or sooner,” Coyle said. “We are very excited to improve the overall game experience for our fans.”

Locally-owned Agri Beef Co., producers of Double R Ranch beef, will be the title sponsor for the new video board. The company has previously helped financially support the construction of the club area in the StueckleSkyCenter, and has furthered its commitment to Boise State Athletics and the football team by additional financial support for the new video board.

“It’s very exciting to have been a contributor to the growth of Boise State football over the last few years, and we are very pleased to help make the new state-of-the-art video board a reality,” said Jay Theiler, Executive Director of Marketing for the company.

McAlvain Construction will complete the installation project, and the video board will sit on the roof of the newly-constructed BleymaierFootballCenter. Funding assistance for the new video board also comes from Boise State Athletics’ multimedia rights holder, Learfield Sports, whose Bronco Sports Properties entity is aligned with Coyle and the entire athletic administration.

Additionally, Bronco Stadium’s sound system will also be receiving an upgrade. Production Services International (PSI) of Boise will install a new sound sound system in conjunction with the video board upgrade.

A decision on what to do with the previous video board, which was installed at Bronco Stadium in 2001, has yet to be determined.
