WVOM 103.9 “The Voice of Maine”: U Maine Basketball, Baseball Returns to FM Signal

ORONO, Maine – Black Bear Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports and the exclusive multimedia rights holder for University of Maine Athletics, announced today that Blueberry Broadcasting in Bangor/Augusta and Waterfront Communications in Bangor have entered into respective, five-year agreements to be radio affiliates of the Black Bear Sports Network starting this fall.

The new agreements call for 100,000-watt WVOM 103.9 FM in Bangor, 50,000-watt WVQM 101.3 FM in Augusta and WVOM 1450 AM in Rockland to carry live Maine hockey and football game action, as well as the Black Bears’ related coaches’ shows and daily shows. The WVOM-FM signal reaches fans living in the Penobscot, Waldo, Washington, Hancock and Piscataquis counties, and WVOM extends U Maine programming to the capital, Lewiston and the coastal region. Together, both signals provide FM coverage up and down the I-95 corridor between Portland to Millinocket. Additionally, WGUY 1230 AM and WGUY 94.1 FM in Bangor will carry live men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball and a select number of softball games through the 2017-18 athletic season.
