Hermann, MO (May 31, 2011) Gameday is about to get tastier in Columbia. Swiss Meat & Sausage Company has been announced as the supplier of the “Official Bratwurst of Mizzou Athletics”. Swiss Meat, maker of premium quality meat and sausage products will produce the exclusive bratwurst sold at Memorial Stadium, Mizzou Arena and all other University of Missouri athletic venues beginning Labor Day weekend.

Starting with the 2011-’12 football season kick-off – the September 3rd game against Miami (Ohio), fans at every Mizzou home game will have the opportunity to enjoy Swiss’ newly unveiled Signature bratwurst (which was developed specifically for this partnership). Terms were not disclosed for the multi-year agreement, which was secured by Mizzou Sports Properties (MSP), the exclusive multimedia and marketing partner for University of Missouri Athletics.

“Mizzou Athletics is very excited to begin offering locally made bratwurst from Swiss Meat & Sausage at our venues,” said Mizzou Sports Properties (MSP) General Manager Jeff Shoultz. “Not only will Swiss provide high-quality bratwurst for our fans, but they’re also supporting our teams by being a corporate partner with the program.”

When asked about the partnership, Swiss Meat & Sausage Company President and Founder Bill Sloan said, “We are very excited at having the opportunity to provide the best college sports fans in the country with what we believe to be the best bratwurst available.”

The addition of Swiss Meat & Sausage Company to Mizzou concession stands is part of an overall effort to enhance the quality of concessions at all facilities. “The move to offer Swiss bratwurst at Mizzou Athletics events is part of our ongoing commitment to improve our concessions offerings through a partnership between Mizzou Sports Properties and Levy Restaurants,” Shoultz added. “Fans are going to see a big difference in our concession stand food this year, and working with a family-owned and operated company like Swiss Meat is a big part of that. We’re proud to be offering a local bratwurst for our fans to enjoy while watching the Tigers.”

The new Signature bratwurst will be available soon at retailers, Swiss’ retail store located 12 miles south of Hermann, MO and online at their website at www.swissmeats.com.
