Insight named Official Advanced Communications Partner of the Louisville Arena

Louisville, KY (February 15, 2010) – One of America’s most advanced arenas requires world-class technology and that is why Learfield Sports’ Louisville Arena Sports and Entertainment Properties (LASEP) today announced the selection of Insight Communications as its Official Advanced Communications Partner. This brings the total arena sponsorships to date to more than $24 million.

As part of a ten-year sponsorship agreement, Insight’s sophisticated fiber optics network will provide hundreds of televisions throughout the Louisville Arena with hi-definition video, a 45 Mbps Internet service – one of the fastest in the Louisville area – and Insight’s reliable business class multi-line phone service.

Insight will also advertise on internal and exterior video boards at the Arena, as well as on the main exterior electronic marquee on the Arena’s plaza.

The company will run a minimum of ten public service announcements each week promoting the Arena on numerous high-profile television channels on the Insight lineup. Insight will also provide a half-hour show each week that features Ted Nicholson, General Manager of the Louisville Arena, or Harold Workman, President and CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board which will manage the Arena.

“Meeting the Arena’s multiple communication needs is critical to its operation,” said Jim Host, Chairman of the Louisville Arena Authority. “We are confident we have found a communications partner that can meet our cable, Internet and land line phone needs. We are pleased to welcome Insight aboard.”

“As part of the fiber of Louisville for more than a decade, Insight has worked to transform the technology experience for families and businesses all across this area,” said Insight Communications CEO Michael Willner. “We believe the Louisville Arena will also be a big part of transforming this community and all of Kentucky and that is why we are proud to be the advanced communications partner for this important project.”

LASEP is the locally based entity of Learfield Sports which oversees the arena’s advertising and sponsorship sales initiatives. As announced previously, Norton Healthcare became the first Cornerstone Partner with a 10-year sponsorship incorporating a Norton Immediate Care Center open to the public year round via an exterior entrance off the arena plaza. Norton will also operate two permanent Norton-branded first aid stations inside the arena for all University of Louisville games and additional arena entertainment events.

Additional 10-year Cornerstone Partners are Hilliard Lyons and Stock Yards Bank & Trust, comprising the “Financial Category,” as well as a five-year sponsorship with Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI).

Other Arena sponsors include McDonalds Restaurants of Kentuckiana Co-op and Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., the Galt House and The Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen.
