First Live Radio Show for 2017-18 Athletics Season will be August 22

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State Aggie fans can head to the new Rudy’s “Country Store” and Bar-B-Q in Las Cruces throughout the upcoming 2017-18 athletics season to be a part of the live Aggies Coaches Show, debuting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22.

The one-hour radio show will air live each week from Rudy’s on 99.5 FM Zia Country and streamed on Facebook Live from the main athletics page, which can be found by going to Facebook.com/NMSUAthletics. In addition to guest appearances by various coaches and student athletes, NM State Director of Athletics Mario Moccia will be a staple on the show each week to answer questions from fans as part of the Ask the AD segment.

The initial show on August 22 will focus on Aggie football as the team prepares to travel to Tempe to open their season against the Arizona State Sun Devils at 8:30 p.m. MST. The relationship with Rudy’s serving as new presenting sponsor for the Aggies Coaches Show was secured by Learfield’s NM State Sports Properties, the university’s athletics multimedia rights holder.

“Rudy’s ‘Country Store’ and Bar-B-Q is thrilled and privileged to partner with NM State Athletics. Rudy’s is excited to bring our Bar-B-Q to Las Cruces and southern New Mexico,” said Rudy’s Area Director Randy Kenna. “We believe that this will be a successful and exciting year for Aggie Athletics. Please join us, along with Aggie coaches, to enjoy great Bar-B-Q and get some insight to your favorite Aggie program. We, along with the Aggie Nation, can’t wait to cheer the Aggie student-athletes to victory!”

“I have been involved with Rudy’s Bar-B-Q since my days at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) in the late 1990’s,” said Moccia. “In addition to phenomenal food, it is an easy to access location in town that will allow for a big Aggie crowd to attend each and every week.”
